Race window is from Monday April 13 through Midnight on Sunday May 03, 2020, Hawaii Standard Time.

There are 3 different courses to choose from.

  • Mini Course:  6 miles total
  • Short Course: 12 miles total
  • Long Course: 24 miles total

REGISTER BEFORE OR AFTER YOU DO YOUR RACE AT: www.flpregister.com.  Just make sure you register before the window closes! (Sunday May 03, 2020 at midnight – HST)

COST:  FREE

RACE RULES:

  • 2 paddlers per team (4 for OC-2 and SS-2). Combine times.
  • FOR OC2 AND SS2, PARTNERS MUST LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD.
  • Must use same craft type for each event.
  • You may participate in multiple craft divisions if you like. You will have to register separately for each race you wish to do.
  • You may switch partners for different craft divisions (surfski vs. OC-1 vs. SUP vs. Erg, etc…) and/or different courses.
  • You may enter a gender specific team and/or a mixed team in each race you enter.
  • If you enter gender specific and mixed, you can use the time from one attempt for both races.
  • Each paddler must paddle exactly half the distance of the prescribed course at one time.
  • Your partner can be anywhere else in the world.
  • Course: You can choose your own course but must start and finish in the same place (within a half mile or so).
  • Post your selfie and GPS data to #Socialdistancerelay on Instagram and to Facebook: @kanakaikaika
  • Email you and your partner’s GPS data with Team Name reference to info@flpregister.com before midnight on May 03, 2020 HST. If you do not send in your result we will not have you on the results

CRAFT DIVISIONS:  OC-1, Surfski, OC-2, SS-2, SUP, Prone paddleboard, V-1, ERG.  FOR OC2 AND SS2, PARTNERS MUST LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD.

AGE CATEGORIES FOR OC-1, Surfski-1, SUP, Prone and Erg. Combine ages for single craft teams (except for Junior teams, where each member must be under the specified age).

  • Male and Female: Top 3 overall finishers per craft division in each race default to open, with age groups starting at 4th place overall
  • Juniors: 18 and under *  15 and under.
  • Adult: 59 and under  *  60–79  *  80–99  * 100-119  * 120-139  *  140+
  • Mixed: Open

Categories for

OC-2 and Surfski-2: Male, female and mixed: No age groups. Open division only and PARTNERS MUST LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD.

  • V-1 Rudderless Canoe: Female, Male and Mixed: Open divisions only
  • Ergometer:  Female, Male and Mixed: Open divisions only
  • Stand Up Paddleboards:

    • Unlimited class.
  • Prone Paddleboards
    • Stock 12’
    • Unlimited

OCEAN PADDLER TELEVISION VIDEO FOOTAGE:

Capture your race with video and submit to OC Paddler by May 10, 2020. The Ocean Paddler editing team will edit and cut all of the submitted footage to create a show with the videos that they receive.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Introduce yourself in the video
    1. Name
    2. Where you’re from
    3. Location/course
    4. Craft you’re racing
  2. Record your race!!
  3. Send your best 15 clips via Dropbox or similar to info@OceanPaddler.tv – also send us your GPS tracking map if available.

Video Requirements: At least 1920X1080 HD – 4K preferred.
