Race #3 Worldwide Results 2021
Divisions: OC-2, OC-1, Surfski, SUP, Prone paddleboard, V-1
Details: YOU MUST RACE THE OAHU COURSE ON SUNDAY JANUARY 31ST, but you can choose your time of day. Worldwide can race anytime during the week prior.
Oahu Courses: Start and finish off Lanikai/Kailua Beaches. Weather pending: Suggested start times are 10:00 a.m. for both short and long.
Long: From Lanikai beach sandbags, split the Mokulua Islands to Mokolea rock (Bird Sh#! Island), surf down to Castle point and into the canal, turn at Kalaheo Ave. bridge and finish within spitting distance of the Kailua Boat Ramp. (stay outside of the swim buoys) c. 9.5 miles. Start your GPS/timing device in waist deep water off the sandbags fronting the Mokulua Islands. Split the Mokuluas, go counter clockwise around Mokolea Rock, turn at the bridge and finish at the boat ramp.
Short: Conditions pending. c. 4.2 miles. Assuming current forecast (15 mph trades), the course will start just off the last swim buoy behind Kalapawai and go to a buoy at Wailea Point where you will turn and return to Flat Island. Round Flat counter clockwise and finish at the Kailua Boat Ramp. Finish inside, within spitting distance of the Boat Ramp. The tide will be above zero so there should be enough water over the reef in Lanikai to clear rudders.
Worldwide course: 8 Miles – Anything goes
WORLDWIDE COURSE: You can race anywhere at any time for one whole week prior to the closing of registration. Oahu paddlers are welcome to use their best 8 miles to enter the Worldwide course
Make sure you have a witness. After you race, register at www.flpregister.com before Monday February 1.

KIRA will track the Poai Puni Series results and the Waterman series results for registered paddlers. Registered paddlers will earn raffle credits for every entry, for chances to win raffle prizes from our sponsors at the end of the season (or whenever we do a raffle…. More information tbd)
