IVF – V1 Trial final Result 2019
WHAT: This is the race to qualify for the 2019 V-1 World Distance Championships put on by the International Va’a Federation (IVF). The event will be held on the Sunshine Coast (Mooloolaba), Australia – races days from August 12th to the 16th (exact schedule not set yet). There will be only one qualifier per division.

DATE & TIME: Sunday April 07, 2019. Race(s) will start at 10:00 a.m. We may run separate races for different categories/age groups if there are not enough va’a to accommodate all paddlers. See registration info below for check in time.
Divisions – Kane & Wahine Canoe: V-1 only. Age groups are IVF – defined by the year you are born in, as noted below:
- Junior 19 (Born in 2000 or later)
- Open (No restriction)
- Master 40 (Born in 1979 or earlier)
- Master 50 (Born in 1969 or earlier)
- Master 60 (Born in 1959 or earlier)
- Master 70 (Born in 1949 or earlier)
Short Course – for Master 70 only: @ 5 miles – out and back from Sand Island
Long Course – for all others: @ 9 miles – out and back from Sand Island
Canoes: A V-1 is a rudderless one-man canoe. Any make or model is allowed, however, there will be a minimum weight requirement of 25 lbs., and those canoes lighter than the minimum will have weight added at check in.
Registration: Online at www.flpregister.com until Friday April 05 at midnight at a cost of $20.00 for juniors (18 and under) and $30.00 for adults. Beach entries on race day will be accepted for an additional $10.00.
Commitment required: All winners are required to commit to attending the IVF Championships by bringing a $100 deposit for HCRA on April 7. If the winner cannot commit, then the 2nd place finisher will be awarded the slot for Hawaii.
